"Blooming knowledge"
.
This adorably whimsical baby elephant represents the innocence of trying/learning new things. It can be intimidating to try new things, but from a far they can look so magical and unobtainable. Then mentors start to break down all the parts that make the whole, and things naturally piece together from your new knowledge and become cemented.
.
This elephant was a new color palette, and a challenge. I wasn’t sure of the painting but I just let my heart guide me in what I wanted to see. I wanted the beauty of change, grace and knowledge to be instilled in this little elephant. I've always been obsessed with how imperfect I am, I used to be ashamed, now I just want people to see the brilliance in difference. I am obsessed with brilliant chunky texture. I want to show the diversity that comes with change. There are many situations in life that can make you insecure about your own knowledge. When you compare yourself to others it’s hard to rise over self doubt. When we sit on our pride sometimes and let others help us, the growth can be exponential. That growth and strength of knowledge help the self doubt fade away but it is always something looming in the shadows in the future.
.
The color of this elephant is green, but not for envy. This green is representative of the beautiful growth that understanding others brings. Learning there is more than just you to benefit, makes you realize you are the whimsical light and energy that powers this piece.
